Abdomen & Flanks — VASER Liposuction
Male, 34 · 4.2 L aspirate · photographed at 6 months
VASER and power-assisted liposuction that removes stubborn fat permanently, retracts skin smoothly, and is performed personally by a board-certified plastic surgeon in an NABH-accredited theatre. Same-day discharge, and most desk-based professionals are back at work within five days.
Liposuction removes fat cells permanently from a defined area. Those specific cells do not grow back, which is why the contour change lasts, provided your weight stays broadly stable. It works on the deposits that resist diet and training: the lower abdomen, flanks, outer thighs, inner thighs, upper arms, bra line, back rolls and the area under the chin.
What it is not is a weight-loss operation. A safe single session removes roughly four to five litres of aspirate, which is a contour change rather than a number on the scale. It also does not tighten significantly loose skin. If you can pinch a fold of skin that stays lifted when you release it, skin excision through a tummy tuck or arm lift will give you a better result than liposuction alone, and an honest surgeon will tell you so at the first visit.
The best candidates are within roughly fifteen to twenty percent of a stable target weight, in good general health, with firm skin that recoils when pinched. Localised bulges out of proportion to the rest of the body respond best.
The technique matters less than the surgeon, but it is not irrelevant. VASER uses ultrasound energy to emulsify fat before it is suctioned, which reduces trauma to surrounding tissue and produces measurable skin retraction. That makes it the better choice for fibrous areas such as the male chest and upper back, and for high-definition sculpting.
Power-assisted liposuction uses a rapidly oscillating cannula and is efficient for large-volume debulking with less surgeon fatigue and less bruising than traditional suction alone. In practice most cases in this clinic combine techniques: VASER where retraction and definition matter, power-assisted where volume matters.
You arrive fasted, usually around seven in the morning. Dr. Khare marks the treatment zones with you standing, because fat sits differently lying down, and photographs are taken for your record. Anaesthesia is general or local with sedation depending on the number of areas.
Tumescent fluid is infiltrated first, which numbs the tissue and constricts blood vessels, then fat is emulsified and removed through three-to-four-millimetre access points placed in natural creases. Incisions this small usually heal to nearly invisible marks. Most single-area cases take under two hours; a four-area case runs three to four. You go home the same evening in a compression garment.
Liposuction in an accredited facility is a low-risk operation, but no surgery is risk-free. Contour irregularity, prolonged swelling, temporary numbness, seroma and asymmetry are the realistic concerns. Serious complications such as deep vein thrombosis or fluid overload are rare and are managed by limiting single-session volume, using compression, mobilising you early, and operating only on patients cleared by a consultant anaesthetist.
Every risk relevant to your specific health profile is discussed in writing at the consultation, not on the morning of surgery.
Every liposuction case at this clinic is planned, marked, operated and reviewed personally by Dr. Ashish Khare, MCh Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, in an NABH-accredited theatre with a consultant anaesthetist present throughout.
Indicative brackets only. Your written, itemised quote is issued after examination and does not change afterwards.
Surgeon fee, consultant anaesthetist, operating theatre, standard consumables, compression garments where applicable, medication for the first week, and all follow-up consultations for twelve months. Nothing is added afterwards. Zero-cost EMI is available on approved cards.

"I met four surgeons in Gurgaon before choosing Dr. Khare. He was the only one who told me which areas would not respond well and why. Six months on, the abdomen and flanks are flat and the scars are invisible. No sales pressure at any point."
"After two pregnancies I had loose skin and muscle separation that no amount of Pilates could fix. Dr. Khare explained exactly what a tummy tuck could and could not do. I was back at my desk in twelve days and I finally feel like myself again."
"I lived with this since school and put it off for fifteen years. The surgery took two hours, I went home the same evening and was back in the gym in three weeks. Genuinely wish I had done it a decade ago."
"What I liked most was that he refused to give me the nose I showed him on my phone, and explained what would actually suit my face. The result looks like me, not like surgery. Breathing is better too."
"The hairline was designed for my age instead of the teenage look people end up with. Dr. Khare did the slits himself. At month nine the density is exactly what the plan promised."
"Years of back and shoulder pain, gone. The consult was unhurried and every cost was itemised in writing before I paid anything. The nursing team checked on me every day of the first week."
Liposuction in Gurgaon typically costs between ₹95,000 and ₹3,50,000. A single area with power-assisted technique starts around ₹95,000; VASER liposuction of three or more areas usually falls between ₹1,95,000 and ₹3,50,000. The quote from this clinic is all-inclusive: surgeon fee, consultant anaesthetist, theatre, consumables, two compression garments and all follow-up visits for one year.
The fat cells removed do not return. If you gain significant weight afterwards, the remaining fat cells elsewhere in the body enlarge, so the shape can change, but the treated areas stay proportionally smaller. Patients who keep their weight within three to four kilograms of their post-surgery weight keep their result indefinitely.
Safe practice limits a single session to roughly four to five litres of aspirate. Removing more in one sitting raises the risk of fluid shifts and cardiovascular strain. If you need more than that, it is staged across two sessions six to eight weeks apart. Any clinic offering unlimited removal in one sitting is taking a risk with your safety.
VASER produces measurable skin retraction, usually enough for mild laxity in patients under about forty-five with reasonable elasticity. It will not fix significant loose skin after major weight loss or pregnancy. In those cases a tummy tuck or body lift gives a far better result, and combining the two is common.
Desk-based work is usually possible on day three to five. Light cardio such as walking and cycling resumes at around three weeks, and resistance training at six weeks once the compression garment comes off. Contact sport waits until three months.
Access points are three to four millimetres and are placed inside natural creases, the navel rim or the bikini line. In most patients they fade to marks that are difficult to find within six to nine months. Scar-management guidance and silicone gel start at week three.
